The doors of the Carolingian Oratory are open for you in Germigny des Prés. It is a result of Theodulfe’s work, the great adviser of Charlemagne. The oratory is one of the oldest churches in France, dated from 806, well known for its remarkable mosaic, Byzantine inspired.

 

Free visit

The oratory is open all year, from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm from april to september and from 10 am to 5 pm from october to march. Visits are however prohibited during ceremonies and cultural events (as concerts during summer).

Your visit can be enriched with an explanatory document available at the Tourist Office.

Guided visits 2020

Guided visits are open for all, in french, according to the program.

Duration : 1 hour

Dates : One week-end out of two, from april to september + each wednesday in july and august. Always at 5 pm.

  • April : saturdays 11 and 25, sundays 12 and 26
  • May : saturdays 9 and 23,  sundays 10 and 24
  • June : saturdays 6 and 20, sundays 7 and 21
  • July and August : each wednesday, saturday and sunday, except saturday July 25 and August 22.
  • September : dates available soon.

 

On the 19th and 20th of September, we celebrate the European Heritage Days. During this week-end, the Tourist Office and “Communauté de communes du Val de Sully” build a special program for all the 19 city and villages of our territory.
